Reliable detection using lasers

The GreCon EDGEINSPECT system uses compact laser sensors to enable reliable and precise detection of edge defects. These sensors are particularly effective because they work with laser beams that can detect the finest details of the edge shape.

Depending on the application, EDGEINSPECT works with one or two compact laser sensors:

Single compact laser sensor

The compact laser sensor is positioned on the underside of the component and detects the round edge up to the break. This method is used when the customer has defined only a visible edge as the test area.

  • Measuring range: From the underside across the round edge.
  • Application: Ideal for components with only one defined visible edge.
  • Objective: Precise detection of defects such as cracks, breakouts or unevenness along the edge.

Two compact laser sensors

Here, two compact laser sensors work simultaneously to inspect both the top and bottom of a component. This configuration enables the inspection of two visible edges.

  • Measuring range: Detection of potential defects on both edges of the component.
  • Application: For components with multiple visible edges, such as doors or furniture panels.
  • Objective: Complete detection of defects on the top and bottom to ensure the highest quality standards.
