Process Optimisation through Wireless Temperature Measurement in the Hot Press and Downstream Processes

08.14 The knowledge of the development of the mat and panel temperature within the press, but also in downstream cooling and conditioning processes supplies valuable information to optimse the production process. The wireless temperature sensor EASYLOG precisely records this data in any position of the mat from a panel thickness of 10 mm.

The temperature measurement provides information on the curing of the resin in the panel. Based on this information, the press program can be optimsed for individual recipes. With EASYLOG working wirelessly, temperature measurements are also easily possible in downstream processes, such as cooling, conditioning, sanding and coating. Knowing the temperature behaviour in these areas can lead to a reduction in processing times. Influences by surface spraying, preheating systems and transport speeds can also be documented.

The measuring intervalls of the wireless data logger EASYLOG are generally freely programmable. For long-time measurements, the measuring period is at least 24 hours. After measurement, the measured data can be wirelessly read out with a tablet PC using RFID technology and transferred to a PC for further evaluation and analysis using a USB stick.

EASYLOG is easy to handle. With the starter package offered by GreCon, consisting of 11 EASYLOG temperature sensors, tablet PC and RFID reader, measurement can be immediately started to systematically initiate measures to increase efficiency.
