IFAT 2026: Reducing fire risks in recycling processes – targeted and effective

In recycling plants and RDF production, fires are among the most significant business risks – both within the material flow and in storage and stockpile areas. At IFAT Munich (4–7 May 2026), our fire protection specialists will show how risks can be identified at an early stage across the entire process chain and effectively reduced with our next-generation protection concept.

At the heart of our presence is GreCon PROTECTOR RECYCLING. The concept enables in-process detection and the automatic initiation of countermeasures at the points where ignition sources typically arise – from incoming material and shredding through conveying to processing and storage. For applications beyond classic spark detection and extinguishing, particularly in stockpile areas, we will also present complementary solutions such as GreCon SCOUT TI (thermographic camera monitoring) for detection and alerting in hard-to-access areas – combined with suitable extinguishing technology for the specific application.

We will also be showcasing a new solution for sites with limited infrastructure: the GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE. The PROTECTOR system is delivered as a plug-and-play container solution – pre-assembled and ready to connect – wherever there is no plant room available or where space and building constraints make installation difficult. This is especially relevant for existing facilities, decentralised areas or temporary set-ups.

Planning your visit to IFAT 2026 in Munich? Come and see us – we’ll be pleased to discuss your process area and the most suitable protection concept.
