E-WASTE WORLD 2026: GreCon presents industrial fire protection throughout entire process chain

Recycling poses a high risk within the material flow. A look at the UK shows just how quickly the problem is escalating: there, over 1,200 battery-related fires have recently been reported in refuse collection vehicles and at waste sites – a 71% increase compared to 2022. This trend underscores the importance of fire prevention throughout the process chain.

At E-WASTE WORLD 2026 in Frankfurt, GreCon will therefore be showcasing industrial fire protection for recycling throughout the entire process chain – from rapid intervention in the material flow to the protection of storage and stockpile areas. And what if the site’s structural layout does not allow for conventional solutions? Then we will demonstrate how plug-and-play works even without a technical room – right up to the GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE.

The benefits of GreCon PROTECTOR RECYCLING

  • Act early: Detect ignition sources and rising temperatures at an early stage and respond effectively before a fire breaks out.
  • More than just spark detection: Protection even where spark suppression is ineffective – e.g. in the event of heat build-up in storage and stockpile areas.
  • Site-specific requirements included: From project-specific protection concepts to turnkey container solutions (GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE).

The difference lies in the timing: if ignition sources or rising temperatures go unnoticed, the situation can quickly spiral out of control. That is why we take a proactive approach to fire safety from the material flow right through to storage and stockpile areas – combining appropriate detection, monitoring and suppression technologies to achieve this.

During the process, high-performance systems protect by quickly identifying risks and containing them in a targeted manner – before fires or explosions occur. And because critical developments in recycling often do not end on the production line but continue in material stockpiles, we also rely on continuous monitoring of temperature trends (e.g. thermal solutions) in conjunction with suitable extinguishing technology – to contain small fires before they grow.

E-WASTE WORLD 2026 is more than just a trade fair event: it is one of the most influential industry gatherings for recycling companies, suppliers of critical raw materials, electronics and battery manufacturers, and ITAD specialists – with over 4,500 decision-makers and experts from the supply chain and circular economy sectors. This is precisely where the topic of “stopping risks early” needs to be on the agenda.

At E-WASTE WORLD 2026 (17–18 June 2026, Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1), we will therefore demonstrate how GreCon PROTECTOR RECYCLING is designed in practice to cover the entire process chain.

And if site conditions throw a spanner in the works once again: GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE brings the fire protection control centre as a plug-and-play component in a container to wherever you need it. The motto: set up, connect, prevent.
