Fagus-GreCon develops and manufactures two product lines: preventive industrial fire protection systems (spark and ember detection, machine fire protection, stockpile monitoring, extinguishing technology) and industrial measuring technology (inline, atline and laboratory measuring systems for quality and process control). Both divisions are developed in Alfeld, Germany, and exported to more than 50 countries.

Conventional systems only react once a fire has already broken out. Preventive fire protection detects ignition sources – sparks, smoldering spots, glowing embers, hot particles, flames – within milliseconds and extinguishes them before any damage occurs. This minimizes consequential costs such as production downtime or water damage.

Fagus-GreCon's measuring technology is primarily used in the wood-based panel industry – MDF, OSB, particleboard – as well as in the insulation material, nonwovens and plastics industries and in the food and sugar sector. Typical applications include thickness measurement, area weight measurement, foreign object detection, fiber quality control, density profile analysis, edge inspection, gas analysis and much more.

Fagus-GreCon was founded in 1911. The company's headquarters are located in the UNESCO World Heritage Fagus Factory in Alfeld, Lower Saxony. The first industrial area weight measuring system was developed in 1974 – the starting point for today's measuring technology division. The company employs more than 700 people worldwide and has been family-owned for five generations.

The Fagus-GreCon fire protection portfolio includes the following products:

  1. For detection: spark detectors (FM, DLD), temperature detectors, hotspot detectors, GreCon SCOUT TI thermal imaging camera.
  2. For processing: fire protection / spark detection control consoles CC 5000/7000, GreCon MISSION CONTROL, PROTECTOR CUBE.
  3. For reaction: automatic extinguishing systems (IEM, LS, UHS), diverter gates and pipe shut-off flaps.

The Fagus-GreCon measuring technology portfolio includes, among others, the products BOARDCONTROL XL, MATCONTROL, MOISTURECONTROL, DENSITYPROFILER, CHIPINSPECTOR, EDGEINSPECT, FIBERVIEW, FORMATOR, GASANALYSER, PARTICLEVIEW and THICKNESSCONTROL.
